Sairsa Woodworks

Handcrafted heirloom quality furniture made from locally harvested wood.

My Story

Sairsa is an old Gaelic word for redemption. It is also used to refer to craftsmen and carpenters because they redeem their material by transforming it into something beautiful and functional.

We take the trees that are cut down and destined for the landfill and transform them into beautiful pieces of furniture.

Locally Harvested

Trees are harvested from Northwest Florida. Typical wood available includes Live Oak, Beech, Sycamore, Magnolia, and Elm.

Local Talent

Wood is cured and milled locally. Furniture is designed and crafted locally.

The Process

We make the furniture from the ground up. Quite literally, we start with a standing tree and finish with a custom designed piece of heirloom furniture.

Find the tree

We find trees that are cut down to make room for development or for regular trimming.

Mill the wood

We mill the tree to create raw lumber suitable for high quality craftsmanship.

Cure the wood

The raw lumber is air dried for two years to allow the moisture content to match the relative humidity of Northwest Florida. This ensures a long life for this furniture without warping or cracking.

Design the furniture

Each piece of furniture is designed and built to the customers specifications. We will meet with the customer and talk through their needs to inform the design. Once the customer approves the design then the carpentry begins.

Build the furniture

The furniture is built by the same craftsman that designed it, ensuring the customer's requests are carried through to the finished product.

Deliver the furniture

The completed furniture will be delivered to the customer for them to enjoy for years to come.
